Music Classes

Early Childhood Music Classes with parent: Class limited to 8. Ages 0 to 2yrs and 2 to 4yrs

Early childhood music classes are designed to nurture children’s music potential and help

prepare them for formal music instruction in school. Teachers guide students and parents or

caregivers through creative musical interaction as they sing, chant, move, dance, improvise,

and explore music instruments. Children absorb songs and chants in different tonalities and

meters and learn the language of music.  *Drop-in Music Classes are $12/class and are only

Family Music Class with parent: Class limited to 8. Ages 0 to 6yrs old

The family music class is a more affordable option with sibling discounts for families with

more than one child.  The Family Music Class follow the same format as the early 

childhood classes and are geared towards the level of the class.  

**Family Music classes are a great economical way to attend with multiple children.

The first child is $96 and second child is $72.

Piano Class: Class limited to 4. Ages 4 ½ to 6yrs old 

Classes are based on Music Moves for Piano, an aural based piano method created in

conjunction with Dr. Gordon’s Music Learning Theory, www.musicmovesforpiano.com.

Children in these classes will continue to chant rhythms, sing tonal patterns and move with

weight and flow. They will become familiar with the piano and the correct physical approach

to the piano while learning familiar and unfamiliar songs.

Guitar Class: Class limited to 4. Ages 5 to 7yrs *Currently seeking a guitar teacher*

Classes are based on Orff Schulwerk and Music Learning Theory and are a challenging yet

nurturing way to start the guitar. It is recommended that each child have his or her own

guitar to bring to class. 

Art Classes

NEW! Explorer with parent: Class limited to 5. Ages 18mo to 26mo

Children will be encouraged to explore the art room and various materials in an unstructured

format. Drawing, playdough and a variety of other basic materials will be introduced in a warm,

supportive environment. Every class will include story time which will explore colors, shapes,

and famous works of art in a fun, playful way!

Scribbler with parent: Class limited to 7. Ages 2 ¼ to 3yrs old

Finger-painting, sculpture, easel painting, craypas, murals and more. Every class will include

playdough time, free choice and art work show-n-tell as well as group art experiences and art

history discussion tailored to the very young child.

Shapemaker with parent: Class limited to 7. Ages 3 to 4yrs old 

Fingerpainting, sculpture, easel painting, craypas, murals, collage and more. Every class will

include playdough time, free choice and art work show-n-tell as well as group art experiences

and art history discussion tailored to the young child.

3D Art: Class limited to 7. Ages 3 to 5yrs old

A fun class exploring 3-dimentional creation using clay, wood, found objects, and a variety of other materials.  Each class will begin with playdough time and include an art history discussion.

Tadpoler: Class limited to 7. Ages 4 to 6yrs old 

A challenging variety of two and three dimensional art materials, activities, and art history

to encourage creativity in the child who is starting to draw recognizable things. Every class

will include free choice and artwork show-n-tell as well as group art experiences and art

history discussion.

Picture Maker: Class limited to 7. Ages 5 to 7yrs old

A challenging variety of two and three- dimensional art including such materials as collage,

clay, charcoal, craypas, aquarelles, and paint. Every class will also include time for student

led exploration of media and technique. Art appreciation and creativity enhanced through art

history discussion.

Art Therapy Social Skills Groups: Limited to 5. Kindergarten through 2nd grade and 3rd

though 5th grade.

These art-based groups are especially for those children who have social limitations and

are in need of extra support with their social interactions and communication skills.  

Groups integrate art-making and lessons in social skills which are based on Social Thinking

curriculum by Marcia Garcia Winner. *Groups will run for 5 consecutive sessions*.

Art and Music Combo Classes

Music and Art Combo: Class limited to 7. Ages 2 to 4yrs old

In each 30 minute music class, children will experience singing, chanting, movement and will

explore music making with manipulatives such as scarves, beanbags, sticks, parachute,

finger puppets, streamers and egg shakers. Each half hour art class will include art history

discussion tailored to the young child and a special activity such as painting, sculpture,

drawing, murals, or collage.

Piano and Art Combo: Class limited to 6. Ages 5 to 7yrs old 

45 minute music classes will include Music Moves for Piano, an aural based piano method by

Marilyn Lowe and Dr. Gordon. 45 minute art classes will include a challenging variety of two

and three-dimensional art including such materials as collage, clay, craypas, aquarelles, and

paint. Art appreciation and creativity enhanced through art history discussion.
